..I miss him; my shadow child, though I see him from time to time, an aged hippie riding the bus on a dark rainy night,a plaid satchel in the Library lost and found,An odd looking character peering at the menu in the window of a Chinese resturant.
I see him when people eat beets of course, and when a plate of carrot muffins was left at bus stop last June
.Two summers ago I passed him hitchhiking outside Ucluelet B.C.,I hollared at my friend, who was the one driving to double back and pick him up,it was a cold foggy morning and by the time we reached the hitching spot all we found were threads of plaid wool, damp with dew on the roadside blackberry bushes.
